Polegate Community Association

Polegate Community Association is an independent registered charity that has proudly served the local community for over 60 years. We own, manage and maintain the Polegate Community Centre, providing a welcoming, accessible space for people of all ages to enjoy a wide variety of leisure, recreational and community activities.

The Centre is home to many local clubs, societies and community groups, offering something for everyone – from babies and young children to senior citizens. Activities include arts and crafts, dance and drama, health and wellbeing, hobbies, sport and fitness, children’s groups and a range of social and community organisations. You can explore all of our regular groups on our User Groups page.

Our facilities include the Henry Twine Hall, two multi-purpose rooms (The Lounge and The Activity Room), one smaller committee room, 2 fully equipped kitchens and accessible toilet facilities. These spaces are available for both regular bookings and one-off hires, making the Centre an ideal venue for community events, meetings, classes and celebrations.

As a charity, we rely on a variety of income sources to keep the Centre running for the benefit of the local community. These include membership and affiliation fees, room hire, advertising in our bi-monthly magazine The Community News, our fundraising activities, and the generosity of donations and legacies.
