Cuckmere Valley Petanque Club

The Cuckmere Valley Petanque Club was founded some 32 years ago to play the game of Petanque – otherwise known as French Boules.

We play four times a week throughout the year at Saxon Nursery, Hankham Road, Hankham BN24 5AP.

Times of play are Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays between 11am and 1pm and on Wednesday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm (although this is not as well attended).

This is a game that is played equally well by both genders and perhaps for that reason our membership is evenly split between the two. Whilst we all like to win our games, we are more of a social than a competitive club. We do sometimes have sociable inter-club competitions. We do loosely abide by the Petanque England rules though.

We also have some social occasions throughout the year, such as a summer barbeque, Christmas dinner etc.
